TORONTO, March 30, 2009 - With Toronto City Council scheduled to debate and vote on the City’s proposed 2009 Operating Budget tomorrow, public opinion poll results, released today, show that 65 per cent of Torontonians believe that the Toronto Land Transfer Tax should be repealed. |

Boulevard parking information |

February 3, 2009 -- TREB has received a letter from the City of Toronto indicating that the City has made information regarding properties currently licensed for boulevard parking (i.e. front yard parking, driveway widening, residential/commercial boulevard parking) available on its web site. The City has advised that a license for boulevard parking does not follow the property, and that new property owners need to apply to have the license agreement transferred. January 28, 2009 -- REALTORS’® lobbying efforts have achieved significant victories in the recently announced 2009 Federal Budget, including proposals to expand the RRSP Homebuyers’ Plan, provide a First-Time Home Buyers’ Tax Credit, and provide a Home Renovation Tax Credit. The implementation of these announcements depends on the approval of the Budget by the House of Commons. |
